The appeal lies in wandering without a fixed goal \u2014 from the Piazza Duomo through the side lanes down to the Giardino Ibleo at the edge. Ibla is hilly throughout and laced with cobblestones and stairs; sturdy shoes and some stamina are worth having, and it&#8217;s best to leave the car outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duomo San Giorgio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Duomo San Giorgio is Ibla&#8217;s main church, its curved, upward-reaching fa\u00e7ade and grand staircase standing on the Piazza Duomo. It&#8217;s considered one of the masterworks of Sicilian late-baroque architecture and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Val di Noto; the interior, with its dome and stained glass, is worth a quick look. A dedicated bus, the HyBus, also runs between Ragusa Superiore (Piazza del Popolo) and Ragusa Ibla (Largo Ss. Trovato) \u2014 not a free shuttle, but at the normal city fare (as of 2026: around \u20ac1.60 at the ticket counter), with a denser schedule into the late evening in season. Alongside it come <strong>scacce<\/strong> \u2014 rolled, stuffed flatbreads with tomato, ricotta, aubergine or cheese \u2014 as well as pasta and meat dishes from the hinterland.
