Practical tip: choose your airport based on your first destination, not just the price – a long ground transfer quickly eats up any savings. Island airports: Lampedusa and Pantelleria
The small Mediterranean islands have their own airports. They are mainly served via the Sicilian hubs; in summer, direct connections from the Italian mainland are added. Ferries are an alternative, though they take considerably longer.
